Captivity - Aquariums

Aquariums

Although it may be more difficult to observe emotions in aquatic animals than in other animals, they do have them. In aquariums animals suffer from lack of space, overcrowding and stress caused by aggressions and contact with the public, noise and flashes.

Aquatic animals require high standards of animal care and highly depend on water quality. therefore the mortality rate in aquariums is usually high and large amounts of aquatic animals are captured from nature to keep the aquarium trade industry.
