"The greatest wildlife spectacle on earth" is a phrase widely used to describe the annual wildebeest and zebra migration in the Serengeti. Safaris and wildlife watching represent the largest industry in the country which has 14 protected areas covering one third of the country's surface, as well as one of the largest populations of mammals, birds and reptiles in the country.
The Ngorongoro crater and the Serengeti National Park are two of the main tourist attractions. Both are near Arusha and are home to an amazing cultural and wildlife variety. Increasingly advertised options are wildlife watching by boat, on foot and even by air balloon. All of them, like the most traditional jeep safaris, should be carried out with an experienced guide for the safety of both, people and animals.

Tanzania is home to the largest population of African lions, but also an industry that has 300,000 km2 reserved for hunting. Currently, the number of lions, leopards and Eland antelopes is decreasing due to poor management of tourist activities and, of course, hunting. The conservation of species should be well above economic income.
