Esperanza Verde is a conservation project in the Amazon basin of Peru, consisting of both wildlife rescue and rainforest protection. The center welcomes and gives a home to all those species that have been rescued from the black market to be sold either for food or as pets.
The center includes a wildlife rehabilitation program with the end goal of releasing and reintroducing the animals into their natural habitat. Volunteers play a fundamental role in the operation and prosperity of the center.
